Jacob started his journey of self discovery at Bethel, meaning "House of God". After years of wandering, he returned to the stone pillar of Bethel, where he found peace for his restless heart, restoration for his brokenness, an end to his wanderings and a place near to the heart of God. After years of rejection he found acceptance in God's house. Bethelstone is for those facing dilemmas that point back to a resting stone, a pillar of peace, wholeness and healing. There we can fulfil dreams, find personal significance and lead other restless wanderers home into the richness of God's promises
Abilene Christian University has an award-winning sculpture, which depicts Jacob's dream. Jesus displaced Jacob when He said, "from henceforth you shall angels ascending and descending above the son of God". He is our rest, healing, restoration, gateway to heaven and the foundation of the church. The symbolism here was confirmed by two stones at the gateway to the Bethel Mission in Mozambique
